14 Point Dishcloth Pattern for You

I posted a few years ago these dishcloths I made for a friend of mine for Christmas.  I got this pattern from a friend who helped me with learning to knit.

Here it is for you!  I use Sugar and Cream cotton yarn.  I have found I can get two and a half rags out of one ball using number 5 needles.  Your gauge will be different so I have no idea how many you can get out of one ball.

I do have an addiction to knitting these.  I usually knit them for gifts and have gotten to where I knit at least eight or a bakers dozen when I get started.  I have to hide my Sugar and Cream yarn from myself or I would be drowning in dish cloths. LOL

The Foxy Scarf

I finished the Foxy Scarf!  I was having so much fun knitting it I got carried away and almost made it to long.

What an adorable scarf

Look at that face! I used stone beads for eyes.

The back of the scarf. The 'nose' is knitted long then sewn to the back of the head so the scarf can be threaded through it.

I have found another neat scarf pattern while wandering around the internet.  I'm trying to not start it because I have so much work to do on my company but my itchy hands may prevail!

Cat Toys that look like something else

I knitted No Kitty a cat toy a while ago.  It is filled with catnip and she loves it.

There is a slight problem though.

It looks like a little turd laying on the floor.  We are all the time spying it from across the room and saying "Did someone have an accident?" Upon further inspection we discover it's just her cat toy.  I think I picked the wrong color of yarn. I had made others for her of non poop colored yarn but she didn't like those.

You can see it up there right?

Now, we have three pets in the house, two dogs and one cat.  Accidents happen.  I didn't think a dark purple yarn would look like poop but it does.

It is a free Ravelry download.

Make yours out of bright colored yarn!

Foxy Lady

I'm knitting a fox scarf.  It is really cute and easy!  You can find the pattern here

This is my tail section. I think I used the wrong needle size for this yarn but it is turning out ok anyway.  That is one thing I love about knitting. I can really screw up and it still can turn out ok. YAY!!

I like to get up before everyone else in the house and knit.  I listen to music with my headphones on of course.

Music to knit by

I am halfway through with the scarf now and already planning my next knitting or crochet project.  I wish I had eight arms, two to cross stitch with, two to knit with and two to crochet with. That leave two hand free to pet the cat and dog. LOL

Emergency Socks

I have decided that learning how to knit socks should not be done in the emergency room.

All I want to do is knit

The holidays were crazy this year and all I wanted to do was knit everyday, all day.  Which is exactly what I did to the exclusion of all else.  This is bad because I own a design company and I should have been designing every waking minute but I just couldn't. I'm thinking my brain needed a break.  Now I need to kick start it into gear and get back to work.  I have two new designs ready to be stitched and about two dozen more in the pipe so I'm pretty good on that score.

What did I knit all those weeks? Well, a pair of fingerless gloves, four hats and a scarf.  Most are being blocked right now so I will have to show you photos of them when they are all ready. I had a wool blocking party today.  It wasn't the most fun party I have ever thrown. First, you have to wash out your sink.  For me that ended up with the entire bathroom being cleaned plus my bedroom.  I filled my sink with tepid water, TEPID.  This was according to the Eucalan bottles very clear instructions.  I was sweating out the exact degree of TEPID.  I wasn't quite sure but kept adjusting the temperature while cursing my hot water heater or faucet that couldn't keep the temp consistent.  I think I got it right and squirted in some wool wash.  Bubbles formed and in went the wooly goodies.  I used super wash wool for some of them and am happy to say that it doesn't stink like a wet dog when it gets wet.  Squish squish went the scarf, super wash wool does not felt ,which is a good thing when you don't want your knitting to suddenly shrink to toddler size after all those hours of work.

All should be dry in the next couple of days so I will post pictures then!  On to a scarf  I am knitting for someones birthday!

Knitting Swatches

I have until recently avoided knitting things that absolutely required a certain gauge.  I guessed around at things and it came out pretty good. But now I am about to knit a certain cabled mitten that has to fit me or I will cry a river of tears.  I sat down last night to start my much dreaded gauge swatch.  Four needle sizes later I still haven't gotten the right gauge and used a good bit of my yarn.  I had a bad feeling this would happen so I bought two skeins.  Now what?!  Guess I will pick the closest one and  go for it.  The pattern is Cable and Gusset Mitten from Circular Knitting Workshop by Margaret Radcliffe.

Chunky Malabrigo ~ Fucsia
This is a fantastic book!  There are half a dozen projects I want to knit and the directions are really well written with lots of clear close up pictures.  With the Superbowl coming on today I should have plenty of time to knit!
